J.T. MCCONNELL
ADA-Services for J. T. McConnell, 87, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Frank Trent will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. McConnell died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at a Norman hospital. He was born September 28, 1925 in the Hart Community, near Vanoss, Oklahoma to Philo and Effie Jones McConnell. He attended school at Vanoss.
He married Goldie Stevens on January 18, 1943 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Mr. McConnell worked in the oilfield and was owner and operator of Ada Septic Tank for 40 years. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie McConnell, of the home; four daughters, Mary McFarlin and husband Roy of Ada, Jackie Lewis and husband John of Sasakwa, Norma Berryman and husband Charlie of Ada and Virgie Mosley of Galey; two sisters, Margie Teel of Ada and Juanita Tiner of Gaar Corner; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Junior McConnell; sisters, Jewel Ragland, Verlie Turner, Wanda Graham, June Teel, and Sally Wyche; two infant sons; a daughter, Faylene McConnell; son-in-law, Larry Mosley; a granddaughter; and great great granddaughter.
Bearers will be Terry Don Teel, Cayson Teel, Dennis Thornton, Ron Akers, Rusty Hopper and Steve Dawson. Honorary bearers will be Josh Berryman and Bo Burk.
