IVA BRANSCUM
KONAWA-Services for Iva Sexton Branscum, 100, Konawa, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Grady Roundtree will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Mrs. Branscum died Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at a local nursing home. She was born October 15, 1909 at Konawa, Oklahoma to Jasper Tom and Maud Barnett Sexton. She attended Summers Chapel and Konawa schools.
She married Dio Branscum in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1986. Mr. and Mrs. Branscum owned and operated grocery stores in Sasakwa and Vamoosa and she was also a homemaker. Mrs. Branscum was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include one son, J. D. Branscum and wife Amelia, Ada; three sisters, Pearl Campbell, Konawa, Juanita Thomas, Konawa, and Jean Ackerman, Konawa; three brothers, Frank Sexton and wife Betty, Oklahoma City, J. T. Sexton and wife Shirley, Konawa, and Doyle Sexton and wife Margie, Asher; two grandchildren, Linda Branscum, Ada, and Jeff Branscum and wife Cathleen, Ada; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsey Pierce, Cody Hill, Chance Branscum and Dillon Branscum.
Bearers will be Rudy Rue, Dewayne Sexton, Brent Sanders, Chance Branscum, Jason Sexton, Michael Sexton and Joel Sexton. Honorary bearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church.
