"Ish" Murray

Graveside services for Vincent Eugene "Ish" Murray, 73, of Stonewall are 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery, near Stonewall, Rev. Thomas Moore will officiate. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Murray passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his home. He was born July 8, 1947 at Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Walter Eugene and Grace Lourabelle Clark Murray. He graduated from Shidler High School and also received an Associate's Degree from Okmulgee State Tech.

He married Lillie Joyce Brown August 26, 1981. Mr. Murray was a Dietary Supervisor for Indian Health Services retiring after 40 years of service. He also had served in the U. S. Army, and was a Vietnam veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; daughter, Tamara Byers and husband Steve, Tonkawa; son, Michael Roy Murray, Ponca City; four grandchildren, Bogahdah Presley and husband Tanner, Tonkawa, Ross Fry, Tonkawa, Gavin Murray and Liam Murray, both of Ponca City; two great-grandchildren, BentLee Murray and Alek Presley; a sister, Linda Pontious, McPherson, KS; brother, Dusty Murray, Salina, KS; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph Murray and Daniel Murray; and a sister, Tonya Rae Murray.
