Obituary

ADA-Services for Irma Drennan, 82, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Dr. David Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Drennan died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Integris Hospice House, Oklahoma City.. She was born June 7, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Louis and Sophie Frank Holm. She attended McPherson grade school and graduated from Amundsen High School in 1947.
She married Larry Drennan December 22, 1948 in Washington, D. C. They were married for almost 64 years. As a wife of a career marine, she lived at military bases in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, California and Oklahoma. Following her husband's retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel at Camp Lejeune, NC on June 30, 1973, they returned to Ada.
Mrs. Drennan was a homemaker. Prior to returning to Ada, she did volunteer work as a Grey Lady at U. S. Naval Hospitals aboard Marine Corps Bases in California, North Carolina and South Carolina. She served as Den Mother to her son's Cub Scout Pack while living in Moore during the 1960's and as a Girl Scout Leader in the 1970's in North Carolina. She also served as a volunteer teacher's aide at Hayes Elementary and Ada Middle School for five years. She loved needlepoint, cross stitch, sewing, crossword puzzles, crypto quotes, reading, cooking, and taking care of her family. She and her husband travelled all over the USA in their motor home and meeting their many friends in the National Skeet Shooting Association.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Drennan, of the home; her son, Michael Drennan and his wife Julie and daughter Anna of Fredericksburg, VA; a daughter, Kathryn Donovan and her husband Larry and grandchildren, Katelyn and Matthew Donovan, of Edmond; brothers-in-law, Wade Drennan, Ada, and LaRoye Drennan and wife Shirley of Dallas, TX; and a close friend, Traci Cantwell, Ada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Louis Holm Jr., Warren Holm and Jack Holm.
