INA HENSON

ADA-Services for Ina Miller Henson, 100, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Chapel, Bobby Johns officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Henson died on Monday, December 24, 2007, at a local nursing home. She was born July 2, 1907, in Pontotoc County to John Miller and Stella Blackburn Miller. She lived in this area all her life and attended school at Ada High School. She received a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from East Central University, and was one of the first graduates of East Central University's Master's Program. She taught for 45 years in Pontotoc County schools, and also served as Principal at Francis School. Mrs. Henson was a member of Southwest Church of Christ for many years, the Ada Rebekah Lodge, a volunteer with Valley View Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of Pontotoc County Retired Teachers Association.

She married Leonard M. "Buck" Henson on April 2, 1932, in Ada. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1987.

Survivors include a son, Bud Henson and his wife Julee, Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Henson, Konawa; two granddaughters, Joni Barrett and her husband Richard, Horntown, Oklahoma; and Kristy Browder, Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandsons, Mike Henson and his wife Renee, Van Buren, Arkansas; Randy Henson and his wife Cheryl, Bossier City, Louisiana; and Buck Henson and his wife Marci, Las Vegas, Nevada; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard M. "Buck" Henson, and a son, W. A. "Bill" Henson.

Bearers are Richard Barrett, Clay Barrett, Trent Barrett, Buck Henson, Mike Henson and Randy Henson.
