Imogene Shumard

Services for Imogene Stephens Shumard, 90, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Her son-in-law, Rev. Rodger Arter will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery near Roff. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shumard passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at a Denison, TX hospital. She was born July 4, 1930 at Ada to David Dee and Georgia Lee Taylor Stephens.

She married Harvey Ray Shumard June 14, 1947 at Ada. He preceded her in death April 2017. Mrs. Shumard was a Medication Aide at Ada Care and Retirement Center until her retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Hanson and husband Sam, Hugo and Joyce Arter and husband Rodger, Ada; a son, Ronnie Shumard, Broken Arrow; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Goldie Henderson, Albuquerque, NM; and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Benny Shumard; and a sister, Dolly Crawley.

Bearers will be Jonathan Shumard, Chase Counts, Christopher Shumard, Ray McQuiston, Brant Davidson and Hunter Mills. Honorary bearers will be Wylie Shumard, Randall Shumard and Robert Brown.
