IMA JO BURNS
ADA-Services for Ima Jo Burns, 84, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Randall Christy will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Burns died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born December 23, 1923 near Quinton, Oklahoma to Joe and Irene Exodus Roberts Mills. She graduated from Quinton High School.
She married Vernon Burns on June 26, 1943 in McAlester, Oklahoma. He died June 2, 1999. Mrs. Burns was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her mother, Irene Mills, Quinton; two brothers, Joe Mills, Jr., Quinton, and John "Skutt" Mills, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; four granchildren, Dawn Cantwell and husband Hershel, Ada, Rebecka Casey and husband Charles, Ada, Carman Burns and wife Debra, Ada, and Stacy Burns and wife Tristen, Missoula, MT; and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Mills, her husband, Vernon Burns, a son, Theron "Buck" Burns, an infant son, Therman Burns, two sisters, Ernestine Fitzer and Daisy Hallum, and a brother, A. J. "Bill" Mills.
Bearers will be Jeffrey Marquand, Brandon Burns, Matthew Burns, Chuck Casey, Hershel Cantwell, and Jonathan Wright.
