RAY ALEXANDER
STONEWALL-Services for Howard Ray Alexander, 62, of Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Andrew Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his home. He was born February 23, 1952 at Coalgate, Oklahoma to Calvin and Bertha Cochran Alexander. He attended Tupelo schools and graduated from Tupelo High School.
Mr. Alexander had been employed with Brockway Glass Company. Later he was a construction worker and had been employed with Cochran Tire Company in Stonewall. Mr. Alexander was affiliated with Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and had served in the National Guard.
Survivors include a special friend, Tammy Brown; five sisters, Effie Washington, Denver, CO, Brezillia Alexander, Stonewall, Vester Johnson, Stonewall, Gladys Monroe and her husband Thompson of Ada, and June Fulsom and her husband Arthur of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Beulah Booker and Ruth Grant and a brother, James Alexander.
Bearers will be Freddie Cochran, Chase Monroe, Christopher Brown, Calvin Brown, Antoine Smith and Michael Fulsom. Honorary bearers will be Matthew Gore, Arthur Fulsom, Thompson Monroe and Richard Brown.
