HOMER RICHMOND
ADA-Services for Homer Walter Richmond, 81, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First United Pentecostal Church, Rev. Daniel Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Richmond died Monday, March 26, 2012 at a local nursing home. He was born October 5, 1930 in Middletown, Ohio to Walter Richmond and Ethel Wilson Richmond.
Mr. Richmond married Ruby Jewell Thompson. She preceded him in death in 2003. Mr. Richmond was a forklift driver for International Paper until his retirement and later he was an auto body painter. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Lynn Smith and her husband Stanley of Riverview, FL, and Rebecca Jewel Bates and her husband Massey of Ada; three sons, William Homer Richmond and wife Cynthia of Stratford, James Harold Richmond and wife Marchelle of Hamilton, OH, and Jeffery Lynn Richmond of Hamilton, OH; two sisters, Dorothy Gabbard of Millville, OH and Rita Gabbard of Millville, OH; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
