HERSHEL SMITH
ADA-Services for Hershel Raymond Smith, 60, Ada, are 4:00 P.M. Monday at the Criswell Chapel, Rev. Steve Wilburn officiating. Burial follows at Oakman Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will perform military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Smith died on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at his home. He was born October 19, 1948, at Ada, to Grady and Willie Mullinax Smith. He attended school at Happyland and graduated from Byng High School. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was employed as a truck driver.
He married Debbie Braddock on June 10, 1974.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie, of the home; a daughter, Brandy Patton and her husband Jon, Ada; a son, Brute Smith and his wife Chrissy, Ada; grandson, Brycen Rhay Smith, Ada; a special niece, Kenzie Jo Davis; a sister, Roxie Winters, Owl Creek; and two brothers, Jack Smith, Ada; and Glen Smith, Ada.
He was preceded in death by two children, a son, Kevin Smith and a daughter, Misty Smith, and two brothers, Bob Smith and Harold Smith.
Bearers are Gary Starns, James Edwards, Kent Schmidt, Darrell Stallings, Timmy Harrison and Jimmy Davis. Honorary bearers are Ed Smith, Larry Smith, Justin Smith, Jake Williams, Cheyenne Starns, Marte Deveney, Brian Davis, Billy Box and Brandon Stephens.
