DELOYCE MCKINNEY

SPENCER-Services for Hermie DeLoyce "Totsie" McKinney, 66, Spencer, Oklahoma are 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Willard Dallas will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leader, Oklahoma.

Ms. McKinney died Monday, April 19, 2010 at her home. She was born October 26, 1943 at Ada, Oklahoma to Tyrie McKinney and Dorothy Irene Townsend. She lived in this area most of her life. She attended Napier elementary school and graduated from Ada High School in 1961. She attended East Central University in 1961 and later graduated from Langston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in July 1971. She received a Masters degree in Student Personnel Guidance from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma on December 29, 1975. In her early childhood, she attended Philemon Baptist Church in Ada.

Ms. McKinney was a Public School Guidance Counselor for the Oklahoma City Public School System from 1976 until retiring in 1987.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Irene Davis, Oklahoma City; four daughters, Sheryl Scales and husband Rust Eddy, Lawrence, KS, Stacey Fields, Midwest City, Kristi McKinney, Oklahoma City, and Tori Perry and husband Kevin, Edmond; a son, Quintin Scales and wife Lisa, Long Beach, CA; two sisters, Gwen Davis and husband Bagby, Ardmore, and Sharon Dianne Davis, Spencer; a brother, Charles Michael Davis, Los Angeles, CA; a niece, Danielle Taylor and husband Ben, St. Louis, MO; nephew, Jeremy Davis and wife Katrina, Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Brittany Manuel and husband Deontre, Colorado Springs, CO, Gary Dupree Fields, Kristin Gabrielle Fields, Preston Michael Fields, Russell Miles Perry, Kevin Sebastian Perry, Ryan Eliot Scales, and Taylor Brooke Scales; a dear life long friend, James Roper Sr., Guthrie; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Jacob Davis, and a brother, Christopher Elliott Davis.

Bearers will be Kevin Perry, Jeremy Davis, Benjamin Taylor, Christopher Davis, LaShawn Davis and Cameron Davis Jr. Honorary bearers will be Leslie Williams Jr., Robert Williams, Steve Williams, James Roper Sr., Lester Albert, Dave Albert, John Terry Gillispie, and Marland McKinney.
