Herbert Colbert

Services for Herbert J.D. Colbert, 76, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Bobby Young and Aaron Ruffin will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Colbert passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at his home. He was born September 19, 1943 at Stonewall to Cecil Ray and Doretha Johnson Colbert.

Herbert married Blondell LaCour July 11, 1975 in Ada. He had worked for Holcim Cement Plant until his retirement. Herbert served in the U. S. Army and was a member of Philemon Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Blondell, of the home; two sons, Steven Louis Frazier and wife Keisha, Edmond and Jason LaCour Colbert of Ada; three grandchildren, Isis Frazier, Oklahoma City, Kira Colbert, Norman and Zane Frazier, Edmond; two sisters, Ester Young and husband Bobby, Shawnee, KS and Glen Dora Gage, Overland Park, KS; the mother of Isis, Meshanda Banister, Oklahoma City, and the mother of Kira, Lauren Colbert, Norman; and two bonus grandchildren, Devian Poole and Julia Poole, both of Norman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Colbert; brother, Doxie Colbert; and a grandchild, Mezhenta Frazier.

Bearers will be Alonzo Albert, Marvin Chiles, Allen Hightower, Cody Lyons, Urban McCarther and Joshua Watson.

Due to COVID-19, the family requests masks be worn at the service.
