Helen Cheadle

Services for Helen Gesina Von Lienen Cheadle, 91, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tony Poe will officiate. Burial will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cheadle passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at an Ada nursing home. She was born July 7, 1928 at Williamsburg, Iowa to George and Dorothy Buhrman Von Lienen.

She married Overton "Buck" Cheadle in 1974. He preceded her in death May 13, 2010. Mrs. Cheadle worked for the Iowa Academic Testing Company (A.C.T) and later, she was a librarian at East Central University in Ada, retiring in 1994.

Survivors include a son, Dan Curry and his partner, Susan, Minneapolis, MN; a daughter, Cindy Wade and husband Dean, Coral Gables, IA; a step-son, Robert Cheadle and wife Darlene, Ada; two step-daughters, Maryalice Gaskell and husband Doug, Nellysford, VA and Elizabeth Nelson and husband David, Willmar, MN; her grandchildren, Travis Hadley and Terra Hadley; great-grandchildren, Addison Berg and Trenton Hadley; her step-grandchildren, Adam Gustaitis and wife Jessica, Edmond, John Cheadle and wife Ana, Clifton Park, NY, Dr. Lucas Cheadle, Boston, MA and Forrest Cheadle and wife Lyric, Denver, CO; and two step-great grandchildren, Jonathan Cheadle and Xander Gustaitis-Verel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Curry; and a step-son, Thom Cheadle.
