Helen Summers

Services for Helen Vadine Summers, 95, of Roff, are 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel; Chaplain Susan Ayers will officiate.

Helen Vadine Summers went home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2026. Born December 19, 1930, to Milton Monroe and Naomi Iona Malicoat Dunn, of Roff. Helen attended schools in Bakersfield, California, and moved back to the Roff area at the age of 14 and attended Roff School.

She married Amos Eli Summers, August 27, 1948.

She was a member of the Roff Baptist Church for many years teaching Sunday School there. Helen later became a member of the Roff Holiness Church, where she loved all her friends. She had a dear friend Mrs. Kirk. They would meet one another on their scooters at Helen’s house and off they would go down the road to church. Helen was a good Christian woman always thinking of others.

She worked as a care giver, later working at the Artesian Nursing Home in Sulphur and Jan Frances Care Center in Ada in the early 70’s.

She also worked at the Senior Citizens in Roff. In charge of outreach and retiring as manager.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Dale Summers and wife, Martha, of Ardmore; one daughter, Donna Faye Tharp and husband, Ray, of Ada; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amos Eli Summers; two sons, Allen Dwayne Summers and Ricky Wayne Summers; one granddaughter, Melissa Lynn Reeves; one great granddaughter, Ashley Sue Reeves; and one brother, Donald Milford Dunn.

The family would like to thank all those that cared for mom from Choice Hospice and Jan Frances Care Center.
