ANNETTE RHOADS

ADA-Services for Annette K. Rhoads, 89, Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, Dr. George Warren will officiate. Burial will be at Berryville, Arkansas.

Mrs. Rhoads died Friday, October 23, 2009 at her home. She was born October 19, 1920 at Shawnee, Oklahoma to Edward Kenneth Knouse, Sr. and Lydia Pearl Nicholson Knouse. She graduated from Shawnee High School and moved to Ada in 1965 from Berryville.

She married Thurman Ford Chafin in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1964. She later married Martin Rhoads in 1981. He preceded her in death in 2002 in Ada. Mrs. Rhoads was a bookkeeper for Fleet Accounting Company in Ada and a member of the First United Methodist church since 1965. She was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and Beta Sigma Phi.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Chafin and her companion, Julie Fuchs, Brooklyn NY; two step-daughters, Patty Pirroli and Simone Miller, both of Pennsylvania; a step-son, Gerald Rhoads, Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Kaki McNamara, West Linn, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thurman Ford Chafin in 1964, her second husband, Martin Rhoads in 2002; a son, James Edward Chafin in 1986; two sisters, Kay Brown and Eleanor Granger; and a brother, Edward Kenneth Knouse, Jr.
