HELEN REEVES
ADA-Services for Helen Viola Reeves, 94, Ada, are 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Ada First Free Will Baptist Church, Revs. Lewis Perry and Ryan Humble officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reeves died peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born March 14, 1916, in Stuart, Oklahoma, to David W. and Susie Dority Hutchins. She attended Rock Creek school in Hughes County and moved to Ada in 1962 from Stratford. She retired from Valley View Hospital and was an active member of Ada First Free Will Baptist Church for 48 years.
She married Jeff Reeves on October 2, 1932. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1982.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Sutton and husband David, McKinney, Texas; a son, Glen L. Reeves and wife Janyce, Irvine, California; 5 grandchildren, Cheré Sutton, Noble; Kyle Sutton, Princeton, Texas; Glenda Bartell, Chino Hills, California; Janell Jenkins, Okemah; and Jeffery Reeves, Ardmore; and 2 great grandchildren, Andy Sutton and Brandon Bartell; and a step-great granddaughter, Mary Pence. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, James Walter Reeves in 1958 and Curtis Reeves in 2000; two sisters, Myrtle Oldham and Estle Hale; and three brothers, Claude Hutchins, Clarence Hutchins and Virgil Hutchins.
Bearers are Kyle Sutton, Jeffery Reeves, James Presley, Gene Myers, Don Kerr and Steve Pence. Honorary bearers J. O. Kirby, Curtis Hogue, E. J. Clark, Harral Harbin, and Orval Pittman.
