HAZEL SHELTON
OKLAHOMA CITY-Services for Hazel Belle Shelton, 92, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Mercer Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. A Committal service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany.
Mrs. Shelton died Monday, January 7, 2013 at an Oklahoma City nursing home. She was born November 10, 1920 at Bowie, Texas to William Cecil and Mattie Ella Roberts Ratliff. She graduated from Goree High School in Goree, Texas. She attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas.
She married Robert O. Shelton, Jr. on March 21, 1943 in Goree, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1967. Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker and bookkeeper. She was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church in Ada where she served as the nursery Sunday school teacher. She was also a Camp Fire Leader.
Survivors include her children, Bob Shelton and wife Jan of Oklahoma City, Patsy Harvey and husband Jim, Pagosa Springs, CO, Kirk Shelton and wife Sherri, Houston, TX, and Cindy Shelton of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Paige and Blake Shelton, Lynne Randle and husband Eric, Kacie Shelton, Kailey Shelton, Katie Brooke and husband Aaron, and Mark Branscum; and her great grandchildren, Anna and Kara Brooke and Brian Randle.
