HARRIET SAMPSON

MIDWEST CITY-Services for Harriet A. Sampson, 89, Midwest City, formerly of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Christ Missionary Baptist Church at 36th and Midwest Blvd. in Midwest City, Rev. Willie Dean will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery in Ada.

Mrs. Sampson died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at her home. She was born August 5, 1919 at Maxwell, Oklahoma to Joseph Samuel and Isabella Stevenson Anthony.

She married Robert Sampson on December 9, 1966 in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1984. Mrs. Sampson and her family moved to Midwest City in 1970 from Ada. She was a retired homemaker, a member of Christ Missionary Baptist Church where she served as president of the women's department and on the usher board of the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Daniels, Midwest City and Phyllis Colbert, Midwest City; a daughter-in-law, Frances Daniels, Tulsa; a step-daughter, Paulette Lawson, Sacramento, CA; seven grandchildren, Beverly Bowers, Sherri Dunning, Brian Daniels, Sabrina Spencer, Alisha McIntosh, Harriet J. Colbert, and Ciara Colbert; four step-grandchildren, Adrian Lawson, Antwine Lawson, Robert Lawson, and Michelle Lawson; ten great grandchildren; and 15 step great grandchildren.
