EDMOND-Services for Hardy Leon Biddy, 93, of Edmond, formerly of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Ada, Rev. Bob Langston will officiate. Burial will precede at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. The U. S. Army 45 th Infantry Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Biddy died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at an Edmond nursing home. He was born December 10, 1920 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Hardy Leonard and Ruby Pearl Powers Biddy. He graduated from Hobart High School in 1938 and attended the University of Oklahoma.

He married Wanda L. Naylor on December 16, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2003. Mr. Biddy and his family moved to Ada in 1952 from Alva. He owned and operated Biddy Printing Company in Ada from 1953 until 1995. Mr. Biddy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he had served as the Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Ada Rotary Club, the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of Oak Hills Golf and Country Club where he was chairman of the greens committee. Mr. Biddy served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II with the 353 rd Fighter Group, 351 st Squadron. He flew 73 missions in Europe and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters. He enlisted on July 29, 1943 and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant on October 3, 1945.

Survivors include three sons, Phil Biddy and wife Ann of Seminole, Brad Biddy and wife Aleta of Edmond, and Jeff Biddy and wife, Cindy Weiland of Tacoma, WA; seven grandchildren, Sarah Biddy, Michael Biddy, Kathleen Handley and husband Robert, Melinda Biddy, Logan Biddy, Lauren Traynor and husband Justin, and Brent Biddy; brother-in-law, Dr. Bruce Naylor of Norman; and sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Folsom of Norman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and an infant daughter, Cynthia Lou Biddy.

Bearers will be the Michael Biddy, Logan Biddy, Brent Biddy, Robert Handley III, Justin Traynor, and Chad Bigham.
