GENE LITTELL
BUNCOMBE CREEK-Graveside services for Hardin Eugene "Gene" Littell, 80, Buncombe Creek, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Maxwell Cemetery
Mr. Littell died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born June 3, 1930 at Rolla, Kansas to Hardin and Wilma Lorene Veach Littell. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Rolla High School. He attended Kansas University prior to serving in the Korean War. He was a fighter pilot in the U. S. Air Force, where he flew F-86's in Korea. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant. He returned to Kansas University where he completed his degree in Geological Engineering and later attended the University of Oklahoma for graduate work.
He married Mae Berryman on March 19, 1955. Mr. Littell worked as an engineer in the oil industry for many years. He began his career with Cities Service Oil Company and later had his own engineering company and production properties. He was a computer programmer and developed engineering software which was sold to many companies.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Littell, of the home; two sons, Tim Littell, Buncombe Creek, Kelly Littell and wife Ritha, Ada; three brothers, Don Littell, Kansas, Clark Littell, Kansas, and Darrell Littell, Florida; four grandchildren, Beverly Bean, T. J. Littell, Landon Littell, and Levi McDaniel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Leighton Littell.
