GWEN WHITTINGTON
STONEWALL-Services for Gwendolyn A. "Trixie" Whittington, 78, Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Don Hoover will officiate. Burial will follow at Jesse Cemetery.
Mrs. Whittington died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at her home. She was born September 21, 1932 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Leonard Rogers and Ellen Salyers Rogers. She attended Tipton schools and graduated from high school in Tipton, Oklahoma.
She married Everett Lee "Huck" Whittington on August 4, 1951. Mrs. Whittington was a secretary at Sears until her retirement and had also owned and operated Ada Answering Service.
Survivors include her husband, Huck Whittington, of the home; three sons, Earl Lee Whittington and his wife Veronica, Henderson, TX, Roy Allen Whittington and his wife Gayla, Stratford, and Leonard Ray Whittington and his wife Paula, Nacogdoches, TX; one daughter, Ellen Sharp of Allen; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Bearers will be Chad Whittington, Roy Whittington, Chris Thompson, Earl Whittington, Ray Whittington and Gary Deatherage.
