Gregory Dean McCall

Gregory Dean McCall, 73, of Ada, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at his home. He was born November 29, 1952, in Topeka, KS, to Dean Melvin and Dorothea Berniece Peck McCall.

Greg loved being in the mountains, drinking a good glass (or entire bottle) of wine, and having a hit on his favorite pipe. He had a personality that was loved by many- equal parts stubborn, funny, opinionated, and loving. He could make you laugh and drive you crazy, somehow both at the same time. Greg wasn’t perfect, and he never pretended to be.

He was simply “dad” and “grandpa”, and there will never be another one like him. Greg would give you the shirt off his back and loved his cats dearly. Greg leaves behind stories that will be told for years, memories that will make us laugh when we need it most, and friends and family that loved him deeply.

We’ll miss his wheezy, deep-bellied laughs, his grunts and his farts, and him eating and leaving immediately after. Greg will be missed more than words can say. But when the mountains are in view or a glass of wine is poured, we’ll think of him.

Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Rodgers and husband, Neil, of Evergreen, CO, and Cassie Goode and husband, Brock, of Ada; grandchildren, Daxton, Benjamin, and Truett; his cat, Red; and other loving relatives and friends.
