Grant Thomas
SHAWNEE-Services for Grant Leslie Thomas, 37, of Shawnee, formerly of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Trinity Baptist Church. Kevin Jennings and Harry Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery near Stonewall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Thomas died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home. He was born May 6, 1977 in Ada to Vernon and Debbie Ferry Thomas. He attended Byng high school and graduated from Stonewall High School in 1995. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from East Central University in 2000.
Mr. Thomas was an AFLAC Associate and co-owner of a small business, Candle Okie. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the East Central University Alumni and attended Praise Assembly of God Church in Shawnee.
Survivors include a daughter, Chloe Josephine Thomas of Shawnee; his parents, Vernon and Debbie Thomas of Ada; a sister, Lisa Calvin and husband Everst Calvin, Jr. of Edmond; a brother, Brett Thomas of Houston, TX; a foster-brother, Jeremy James of Ada; his paternal grandmother, Virginia Rickard of Ada; a niece, Micah Worcester of Ada; his nephews, Kason and Danté Calvin of Edmond; three aunts, Amy Scott and husband Terry of Ada, Anita Thomas and husband Kim of Ada, and Dianne Lail and husband Michael of Tulsa; his girlfriend, Torrey Rowe of Edmond; and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Max Thomas; maternal grandparents, Mike and Josephine Ferry ; a step grandfather, Derryl Rickard; and an uncle Leslie Paul Thomas.
Bearers will be Michael Shaw, Nathan Davis, Jeff Price, Buck Baney, Dillon Byrd and Thomas Tollett. Honorary bearers will be Quinn Womack and Chris Sliger.
