GRADY TURNER

NORMAN-Services for Grady Milburn Turner, 92, Norman, are 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Elder Raymond Ragsdale will officiate. Don Stevens will be reading the obituary. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Turner died Friday, December 28, 2007 at a Norman hospital. He was born September 28, 1915 in Umpire, Arkansas to Charles Owen and Mary I. Davis Turner. He graduated from Pioneer high school in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mr. Turner worked as an auto body mechanic. Mr. Turner enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 and served during WWII in the Seabees at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the Aleutian Islands Guam and Sasebo, Japan. Following leaving the military in 1946, Mr. Turner resided in west Texas and eastern New Mexico areas from 1946 to 1968.

He married Joy M. Storie on February 19, 1954 at Portales, New Mexico. The Turner family lived in Portales, New Mexico, from 1954 to 1968, Altus, Oklahoma from 1968 to 1971, Lawton, Oklahoma from 1971 to 2003 and Norman, Oklahoma from 2003 till present.

Survivors include his wife, Joy M.Turner, of the home; two sons, Vernon Gale Turner and his companion, Lynda Heinrich, Lubbock, TX, and Grady Lee Turner and his wife Kim, Ponca City, OK; six grandchildren, Cameron Gale Turner and his fiancé, Hayley Reyes, Cedar Park, TX, Leah Marie Turner, Dallas, TX, Brandon Lee Turner and his wife Savannah, Decatur, TX, Ricky Wayne Coffelt, Jr., Ponca City, OK, Cory Michael Coffelt, Colorado Springs, CO, and Brandi Michelle Turner, Ponca City, OK; one great grandchild, Keaton Lee Turner, Decatur, TX; and many loving friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.O. and Mary Davis Turner; sisters, Thelma Ross, Erma Markham, Vermalois Elloit and Varie Turner; and by a brother, Williard "Bill" Turner.

Bearers will be Cameron Turner, Brandon Turner, Ricky Coffelt, Joe Storie, Bryan Stevens, Kerry Harrell, Rick Quinn and Shawn Fullingim.

Honorary bearers are Royce Bell, David Stevens, James Davis, Jack Grace, Joe Joyner, Cory Coffelt and C.C. Crawford.

Carrying the rose and bible are granddaughters, Leah and Brandi Turner.
