GRACE HUDDLESTON
ADA-Graveside services for Grace Huddleston, 85, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Rosedale Cemetery, her brother, Ben Huddleston will officiate.
Ms. Huddleston died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at a Durant nursing home. She was born June 21, 1925 in Rover, Missouri to Newell Edward and Gertrude Heard Huddleston. She attended grade school at Lost Pond School in Thomasville, Missouri and graduated from Thomasville High School. She moved to this area in 1974 from Las Vegas, Nevada.
During World War II, Ms. Huddleston worked in the ship yards. Later, she was a telephone operator, then worked as a care-giver until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Springsteen of Durant; a grandson, Derrik James of Durant; three brothers, Ben Huddleston of West Plains, MO, Arthur "Bill" Huddleston of Belton, MO, and Earl Huddleston of Stratford; a great nephew, Charles Largent and his wife Regina, Fairbanks, AK; two great great nieces, Jessie and Kate Zimmerman, both of Fairbanks, AK; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by several infant brothers and sisters, a sister, Mildred Huddleston and brother, Robert Huddleston.
