GRACE CANNON
ADA-Services for Grace Frances Cannon Murphy, 97, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Stonewall.
Mrs. Murphy died Monday, March 12, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was born January 28, 1915 at Tupelo, Oklahoma to William Thomas and Cora Alice McIntosh Armstrong. She attended Tupelo schools and lived in the Tupelo and Ada areas all her life.
She married W. M. "Dick" Murphy on November 10, 1960 in Sulphur. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Murphy was a sales clerk for C. R. Anthony's and Neal's Shoe Store in Ada for 45 years.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Lawana Cannon of Ada; two grandsons, Charles Clayton Cannon of Austin TX, and Chris Cannon and his wife Susan of Ada; and a great grandson, Brandon Cannon.
She was preceded in death by her only son, Charles Christopher Cannon in 1991.
