ADA-Services for Gloria Darlene Jones, 73, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Byng Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Rodger Arter and Benny Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at her home. She was born February 23, 1938 in Ada, Oklahoma to L. H. and Beaulah Harden Alford. She lived in this area most of her life, attended Irving grade school and graduated from Ada High School in 1956.
She married Boyce Jones on February 11, 1961. Mrs. Jones was an accounting clerk in the Finance Department for the City of Ada from October 6, 1986 until her retirement on July 2, 2010. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. She and her husband were active in the promotion of gospel music in this area for over 40 years.
Survivors include her husband, Boyce Jones, of the home; two daughters, Latricia Bryant and her husband Allen, Ada, and Bobbie Jones and her husband Brian, Waxahatchie, TX; two sons, Gene Jones, Ada, and Glen Jones and wife Amber, Ada; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer and Rachael Bryant and Jillian, Kristopher, Sydney, Alivia, Chris, Alyssa, Cara, and Jacob Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, L.H. and Beaulah Alford; and a brother, Glen Alford.
