Rev. Glen Eaves

Services for Rev. Glen Eaves, 88, of Oil Center will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church, Revs. Don Keizor, Keith Ward and Toby Willoughby will officiate. Burial will follow at Box X Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Rev. Eaves passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his home. He was born November 30, 1928 at Horntown to Fate Meriel and Cora Belle Wilson Eaves. He attended schools at East Ellison and Atoka.

He married Bettie Ann Lee April 14, 1961. Rev. Eaves had been a Pentecostal Minister for many years. He had served as minister at Iron Stob, McAlester and at Oil Center for a total of 42 years. He had helped build the parsonage at each church he served. He also helped organize the Oil Center Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie, of the home; his children, Lanny Joe Eaves and wife Tammy, Deborah Shortes and husband Terry, Ann Roberts and husband Tony, Russell Glen Eaves and wife Cathy and Nina Collins and husband Tommy, all of Ada; a brother, Kenneth Eaves and wife Maxine of Stringtown; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Isadore Eaves of Arlington, TX, Peggy Hogan of Bentley and Jimmy and Barbara Lee of McAlester; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Meriel Eaves, Otis Eaves during World War II, Ray Eaves and wife Christine,  Carl Eaves and wife Opal and Joe Eaves and wife Louise; his sisters, Ruth Strang and husband Harold, Eva Shedd and husband Claud, Esther Ramsey and husband Harold and Vivian Hogan and husband Floyd; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Geraldine Eaves, Bob and Ruby Rains, Granville and Della Hogan, Jewell and Earl Mobbs and Herbert Hogan; and Laverne Hogan.

Bearers will be his grandsons, Lanny Eaves, Jr., Josh Eaves, Tim Shortes, Philip Shortes, John Roberts, Brett Collins and Kenny Mayfield. Honorary bearers will be Jason Cariker, Chris McKinney, Sean Lackey, John Hinman, Jimmy Ward, Delton Sutton, Wayne Willoughby, Jerry McDaniel, Mike Casady, B. J. Robertson and Stacy Robertson.
