GERALDINE JONES
ADA-Services for Geraldine Collins Jones, 96, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, Dr. Roberto Escamilla will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at a local hospital. She was born March 27, 1913 near Homer, Oklahoma to Lee and Rosetta Sharrock Collins. She graduated from Horace Mann High School in Ada and the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas.
She married Cecil Jones. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1965. Mrs. Jones served as the Assistant County Treasurer in the Pontotoc County Treasurer's Office, retiring after 40 years of service. She was a founding member of the "Chickasaw Kats", an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Ada Rebekah Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Kish Thomas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Jones and Mary, Centerville, TX, and Jim and Mary Lou Gunn, Modesto, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gerald and LaVerne Collins.
