GERALDINE BRYAN
ADA-Services for Geraldine Melton Bryan, 93, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gene Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Five-Mile Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryan died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at an Allen nursing home. She was born September 5, 1918 in the Pecan Grove Community, south of Ada, Oklahoma to Walter and Etta Brumley Melton. She attended school at Steedman grade school, Highland school in Arkansas and Francis schools.
She married Audie M. Bryan on August 18, 1940. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1987. Mrs. Bryan was a homemaker and a longtime member of Happyland Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Glen Bryan of Bowlegs, Melvin Dewayne Bryan of Allen, and Johnny Bryan and wife Judy of Happyland; a brother, Walter Melton of Oklahoma City; a sister, Alene Morris of Clinton, TN; six grandchildren, Amanda Nave, Katrina Allen, Christopher Bryan, Cathy Werner, Michael Bryan and Jennifer Gaines; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Bobby, Medford, Chester, and Ray Melton; a sister, Marcela Kassner; and a daughter-in-law, Penny Bryan.
Bearers will be Bill Shockey, Phillip Lawrence, Earl Melton, Gerald Melton, Rick Wallace, and Howard Nave.
