GEORGIE PARKS
ADA-Services for Georgie Jo Parks, 94, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Philemon Baptist Church, Rev. Ronnie Amos will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery.
Mrs. Parks died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at a local nursing home. She was born September 1, 1915 at Tishomingo, Oklahoma to ___ and Mary Chaney Potts.
She married Lee Parks. He preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Parks was a domestic worker until her retirement and a member of Philemon Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mae Parks, Shawnee; four cousins, Odessa Thompson, Purcell, Lucille Luper, Norman, Norma Faye Craven, Oklahoma City and Estella Bonner, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a step-son, Raymond Parks.
Bearers will be Herbert Colbert, Wilfred Anderson, Rufus Clark and Custer McFalls. Honorary bearers will be Walter Grant Sr., Walter Grant Jr., Eddie Weaver and Glen Shelton.
