GEORGIA BALL
ENID-Services for Georgia Pauline Maypole Ball, 87, Enid, formerly of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery in Ada.
Mrs. Ball died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at a Carrollton, Texas nursing home. She was born November 18, 1924 in Helena, Oklahoma to George and Lena Pehl Maypole. She attended Helena grade school and graduated from Helena High School. She also attended Enid Business School.
She married Oliver Kennett Ball on November 8, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. Ball was a Cryptographer at Vance Air Force Base in Enid from 1944-1948 and she was a homemaker. She and her family moved to Ada in 1961. Mrs. Ball was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she was involved in various church activities. Mrs. Ball also worked for the Pontotoc County Election Board. She and her husband moved to Enid in 2010.
Survivors include her husband, Kennett Ball, of the home; a daughter, Suzanne Le and her husband Hoang Le of Irving, Texas; two granddaughters, Lindsay Ball of Houston, TX and Morgan Ball of Austin, TX and their mother, Delane Derr of Houston, TX; a sister, Nadine Rexroat of Enid; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Al Hajek of Enid; and five nieces, Kathy Kraai, Kim Park, Rose Clampitt, Jan Wells and Jeanne Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Steven Ball.
Bearers will be Gary Wells, Vinh Le, Lloyd Jack, Angus McFarlane, Lee Murray and Gary Robinson.
