GENEVA DAVIES
ARDMORE-Graveside services for Geneva Judson Braly Davies, 98, Ardmore, formerly of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Rosedale Cemetery, Harold Ware will officiate.
Mrs. Davies died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at an Ardmore hospital. She was born August 29, 1912 at Stratford, Oklahoma to Judson Taylor and Jennie Mayfield Thomas Braly. She and her family moved to Ada in 1914 from Stratford. She attended Hayes grade school and graduated from Ada High School in 1930. She graduated from East Central State Teachers College in 1933.
She married Herbert John Davies on November 26, 1943 at Trinity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1971 in Ada. Mrs. Davies worked as a legal secretary for Vernon Roberts of Kerr, Lambert, Conn and Roberts Law Firm for 34 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada for over 80 years, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Prime Timers.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Rider, Ardmore; grandchildren, Brandon Guderian and his wife Shonda, Edmond, Kristin Rider of Oklahoma City, and John Rider and his wife Courtney of Cedar Park, TX; and her great grandchildren, Hope and Bryce Guderian, Brecken, Taplin and Declan Rider, and one more great grandchild due in August.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Carolyn Davies Thompson.
