GENERAL VANDEVER, JR.
ADA-Graveside services for General Wood "G.W." Vandever, Jr., 86, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mr. David Fry will officiate.
Mr. Vandever died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at a local nursing home. He was born September 16, 1921 at Beggs, Oklahoma to General Wood Vandever, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Doyle Vandever.
Mr. Vandever was a sheet metal worker for Howard Sheet Metal and he had served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his children, Joe Vandever and wife Marilyn, Phoenix, AZ, Judy Vandever, Seattle, WA, Jerry Vandever and wife Sharon, Stonewall, and Jeanie Anderson, Ada.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Francis Rowe.
