Gene Taylor

Services for Darl Eugene "Gene" Taylor, 77, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Cross Cut Cowboy Church, Rev. Dan Megehee will officiate. Burial will follow at Dora Cemetery, north of Seminole. The Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

Mr. Taylor passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at a Holdenville nursing home. He was born January 12, 1944 in Hazel, OK to Charlie and Mary Tressie Hodges Taylor. He graduated high school and attended college.

Mr. Taylor was a truck driver for Miller Trucking. He was a trucker for 40 years. He had served in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Terrie Taylor, Francis; one brother, Sammy Taylor, Wanette; two sisters, Dene Henderson, Ada and Teresa Bonner, South Carolina; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl, Chuck and Jimmy; four sisters, Juanita, Dorothy, Mae and Vonda; and a son, Tony Taylor.

Bearers will be Brian Davis, Rob Taylor, Dave Griffin, David Young, Lanny Davis and Dakota Davis. Honorary bearers will be Larry Green, Carl Taylor, Jr., and J. T. Davis.
