GAYLORD SHACKLEFORD
TISHOMINGO-Graveside services for Gaylord Shackleford, 82, Tishomingo, formerly of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. Michael Russel will officiate.
Mr. Shackleford died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at a Tishomingo nursing home. He was born June 26, 1928 in Ada, Oklahoma to Gaylord and Opal Foster Shackleford. He attended Ada schools.
He married Darma Catherine Broadway on August 12, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2005. Mr. Shackleford was a crane and wench truck operator for Ideal Cement, retiring in 1990 after 30 years of service. He was a former member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the Ada Bassmasters and had served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his son, Mike Shackleford and his wife Dorothy, Ada; a sister, Jewel Faye of New York; two grandchildren, Steve Sutton, Ada and Sissy Sutton, Ada; two step-grandchildren, Blake Shelton, Tishomingo and Endy Intrieri, Moore; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Bessie Shackleford.
