Services for Gary Marshall Day, 79, of Roff are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Danny Stewart will officiate. Burial will be 1:00 p. m. Monday, April 26, 2021 in Dexter, KS. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Day passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born October 25, 1941 in Salem, Indiana to Glen and Madge Marshall Day.
He married Wanda Hobbs in Salem, IN August 5, 1961. Gary and Wanda later divorced. Gary later married Linda Lou Butts June 3, 1988. She preceded him in death June 5, 2015.
Gary took great pride in being a 3 rd generation Hereford breeder. Most recently, Gary was recognized as a 50-year member of the American Hereford Association. Gary built a reputation successfully managing several purebred cattle operations across the Midwest. For the last 20 years, he has owned and operated his own purebred cattle operation specializing in replacement heifers and breeding bulls sold across the U. S.
Gary was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and studied to live in the Word. He was most recently a member of the Vinita Street Church of Christ in Sulphur, OK.
Survivors include his eight children, Monica Day-Vansco and husband Bill, McKinney, TX, Charles Day and wife Cathy, Cincinnati, OH, Mike Day and wife Sheila, Holton, KS, John Day, Roff, OK, Brent Day and wife Andi (Andrea), Stamping Ground, KY, C. W. Cook and wife Kate, Goldsby, OK, Kristie Scott and husband Boyd, El Reno, OK and Kerrie Buckaloo and husband Brad, Wynnewood, OK; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; and a grandson, Jackson Cook.
Honorary bearers will be Jackie Dale Butts, Bobby Williamson, Charles Day, Mike Day, John Day, Brent Day and C. W. Cook
