Gary Wayne Bennett, 64, resident of Ada, OK entered into rest on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at OU Medical Center OKC. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Houston, TX.
Mr. Bennett was born on August 10, 1959 in Houston, TX to Edgar V. Bennett and Evelyn Virginia (Parker) Bennett.
He attended John R. Harris and Deady Jr. High School, Houston, TX and received his GED in Oklahoma City, OK. Gary was an avid traveler in his younger years and worked all over the nation and had a passionate love for Alaska where he lived for many years before settling in Ada, Oklahoma.
Mr. Bennett was a decedent of Governor Thomas J. Parker, one of the first governors of the Chickasaw Nation. Gary was very proud of his Chickasaw heritage and to be a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Evelyn Bennett; brothers, Harold Lloyd Bennett and Eddie Vernon Bennett (Butch), and niece, Michelle Lynn Bennett.
Left to cherish his memory are sisters, Jerrie Kay Le Compte, Peggy Sue Prather, Sharon Ann Hignight, Cynthia Lynn Erskine all of Houston, TX; brother, Jimmy Dean Bennett, Houston, TX; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gary fought the good fight with pride and dignity and he will be always loved and remembered by those whose lives he touched.
