Services for Garland Weldon McNutt, 88, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Stuart School Gymnasium, Bart Patterson will officiate. Burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart.
Dr. McNutt died Friday, March 18, 2022 in Oklahoma City. He was born June 18, 1933 in Bohannon Community, in Hughes County, to Curt and Doris Burns McNutt.
He married Wandella Lawyer on August 30, 1952. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2008. Dr. McNutt served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and later received his Bachelor's Degree from East Central University, Master's Degree from Oklahoma State University, and Doctorate from The University of Oklahoma. Mr. McNutt was an educator being employed with the University of Oklahoma, University of Arkansas and East Central University.
Survivors include his devoted partner, Opal "Jeannie" Hays; son, Gary McNutt and wife Dana; daughter, Kathy McNutt and husband Larry; brother, Derald McNutt and his partner, Linda of Arpelar; seven grandchildren, Kerri Allard and husband Tyson, Kortni McNutt, Karis Maher, Tara Denton, Macy Pryor and husband Travis, Kristyn McLaughlin and Walker McLaughlin; five great-grandchildren, Quinn Allard, Berkley Allard, Jonas Maher, Blakely Bowker and Charlotte Pryor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wandella McNutt on September 8, 2008; one sister, Floyce Christian; and two brothers, Joe McNutt and Leon McNutt.
Bearers are Larry McNutt, Tyson Allard, Travis Pryor, Walker McLaughlin, Dewey Wimberley and Alan Holloway.
