Fred J. Frederickson

Services for Fred J. Frederickson, 92, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church; Father Foshee and Deacon Dennis Fine will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Fred passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at a Dallas hospital. He was born August 1, 1934, in Valentine, Nebraska, to Fred J. Frederickson and Catherine Hanika Frederickson.

He married the love of his life, Collean LaRayne Johnson, on April 18, 1959, and they had seven children together. He proudly served in the United States Army and spent his life cattle and horse ranching. He also enjoyed driving his semi-truck and hauling hay.

He was a man of strong faith who loved going to church and cherished the time he spent with his family. He had a special love for racehorses, rodeos, and the outdoors. Those who knew him will remember his wonderful sense of humor, his ability to tell a good joke, and the joy he brought to others through reciting poetry and singing.

Above all, he loved his family deeply. His faith, humor, stories, songs, and generous spirit will be remembered and treasured by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Collean, of Ada; son, Ty Frederickson and wife, Lily, of Washington; five daughters, Teresa Anthony and husband, Tim, of Ada, Jacki Millard and husband, Fred, of Sasakwa, Julie Welch and husband, Clint, of Ada, Becky Crabtree, of Ada, and Jan Boyd and husband, Brandon, of Sasakwa; 13 grandchildren, Michael Frederickson and wife, Alisha, of Ada, Amanda Mericle and husband, Matt, of Ada, Adam Burris and wife, April, of Allen, Josh Burris and wife, Ashley, of Stonewall, Jesse Wilson and wife, Courtni, of Ada, Hoot Wilson and wife, Treva, of Durant, Jason Minyen, of Ada, Matthew Frederickson and wife, Robin, of Ada, Jessica Trimmer and husband, Mitchell, of Ada, Sarah Whitmire and husband, Ryan, of Kingston Springs, TN, Katie Crabtree, of Ada, Joseph Nemecek, of Seminole, and Hannah Boyd, of Ada; 21 great grandchildren, Lauren Frederickson, Aubrey Pope, Kessler Frederickson, Adelynn Frederickson, Taylor McCarthy, Hunter Mericle, Kaden Mericle, Becket Burris, Addison Burris, Emmie Burris, Bradon Wilson, Gavin Wilson, Christian Minyen, Chance Minyen, Colton Minyen, Ally Frederickson, Abby Frederickson, Max Trimmer, Sawyer Trimmer, Reese Trimmer, and Baby Whitmire; and great grandchildren, Cheyenne McCarthy and Summer McCarthy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Collean Frederickson; brothers, Harold Frederickson, Jim Frederickson, Bud Frederickson, and Roland Frederickson; and two sisters, Loretta Slack and Delores Cahill.

Bearers are Michael Frederickson, Adam Burris, Josh Burris, Jesse Wilson, Hoot Wilson, Matthew Frederickson, Joseph Nemecek.
