FRANK JAMES SR.
OKLAHOMA CITY-Services for Franklin Delano James, Sr., 77, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Ada are Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church, 2122 Drinkwater Drive in Oklahoma City. Rev. Dr. L.R. Drinkwater, Sr. will officiate. The final viewing will be Monday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery near Ada.
Mr. James died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born October 3, 1936 at Stonewall, Oklahoma to Willie and Myrtle Mae Brannon James. He lived in the Ada area as a child and attended Napier School.
Mr. James was a general laborer in the packing industry and also worked in the lawn care business for many years. He was a member of the Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children; Daughters Kaye James, Theresa James, Karen James, Rene James, RosaLinda James, Dovietta Johnson and husband Derek, Lee James-Perry and husband Bill, and Charae Peters; Sons Frank James, Jr, Bryant James and wife Georgia, Donald James, Stephen James, Rodney Peters, Kenneth Peters; 33 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a brother, David W. James, Sr., and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, and one son, Dennis Ray James.
There will be a viewing at Criswell in Ada, Oklahoma on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
