Franklin James, Jr.

Services for Franklin D. James, Jr. 57, of Oklahoma City are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Reaper Baptist Church in Ada, Revs. LaRue Drinkwater, Jr. and Famous Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery.

Frank passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at his home. He was born January 11, 1960 in Ada, Oklahoma to Franklin D. Sr. and Virginia James. He was the third child born into this union. Frank was baptized at an early age and became a member of Reaper Baptist Church. He attended Byng school. Frank moved to Oklahoma City where he worked various jobs until his health failed him. He became a member of Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Doctor Rev. L.R. Drinkwater, Sr.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, a brother Dennis James and a grandson K.C. Na'Jwan Broome.

Frank is survived by his mother, Virginia James of Oklahoma City; his children, Cherionique MoneyPenny Austin, Texas, Chermaine Thomas, Shanghai, China, Jaz'Quetin, Linda Broome, Michael, all of Oklahoma City and Matt Kemp, Langston, OK; his sisters, Catherine James, Theresa James, Karen James and RosaLinda Clayton-James all of Oklahoma City, Rene James, Madill OK, Dovietta Johnson (Derek), Warner Robins, GA, Lee Etta James-Perry, Norman, OK and Jolanda Peters, Coppell, TX; her brothers, Bryant James, Donald James, Rodney Peters and Kenneth Peters all of Oklahoma City and Stephen James of Ponco City, OK;  and a host of family and friends.
