FRANK WHITE
ADA-Services for Frank White, 87, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. White died Monday, February 23, 2009 at a local hospital. He was born October 16, 1921 at Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Clarence and Viola Drafton White. He attended schools at Culley and Friendship. He served in World War II with the 413th anti Aircraft Division, participated in the Normandy Invasion and Battle of the Bulge and was honorably discharged in 1945.
He married Clara Childers December 6, 1946 at Konawa, Oklahoma. They moved from Texas to Ada in 1949 and he retired as Production Superintendent for Kingery Drilling Company in 1990. He was a longtime member of Southwest Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Clara White, of the home; one son, Jerry White and wife Carol of Norman; two daughters, Janice Brand and husband Randy of Asher and Patti Grissom, Ada; five grandchildren, David White and wife Elizabeth, Pittsburg, PA, Patrick White, Mechanicville, VA, Kimberly White, Fort Collins, CO, Bobby Lynch and wife Brook, Davis, OK, Kent Ellis and wife Liz, Ada; four great grandchildren, Emilie and Madeleine Whitewolf, Pittsburg, PA, Ayden Lynch, Davis, OK, and Braylon Ellis, Ada; a sister, Dorothy Hill and husband Loyal, Ellisville, MO; a brother-in-law, Lindel Jobe, Bellview, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Virgil, Marvin, Clyde and Clayton White, and three half-sisters, Nola Applegate, Thelma Huggins, and Heneretta Beaird, a sister, Geneva Jobe, and a son-in-law, Rickie Grissom.
Bearers will be Glendel Hatton,Scott Estes, Bobby Johns, Elmer Gerth, Alvin Jamar, and Butch Platt. Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren and their spouses.
