Frank "Sonny" Griffin
Ada-Services for Frank M. "Sonny" Griffin, 79, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Crosspointe Church, Pastor Shawn Wiebers will officiate. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday at Criswell Funeral Home
Mr. Griffin died, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home. Sonny was born to Sidney and Opal Slusher Griffin on October 13, 1936 in Ada, OK. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1955.
He married Laura Hudson Ford on August 10, 1984. He is survived by his wife Laura and his children, Debbie Brecheen of Rogers, AR; Kristen Jones and her husband Jeff of Bentonville, AR; Sid Griffin and his wife Kellye of Ada, OK; 2 step-children, Becky Roberts and her husband Bryan of Baldwinsville, NY; Tony Ford and his wife Annette of Bentonville, AR; 12 grandchildren, Britni, Tyler, Shelby, Elijah, Ezekiel, Ezra, Hayley, Andrew, Claire, Josh, Matt and Nick; 2 great-grandchildren, Zoey and Maddox; 3 sisters, JoAnn Ballard of Ada, Nancy Smith of Stratford and Kay Winn of Moore, OK, and many nieces and nephews.
Sonny proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and went on from there to open Debbie's Drive-In in Stratford, OK and later opened the Dairy Queen on Arlington Street in Ada, OK. He was a long time member of Crosspointe Church. He also loved golfing and had a passion for woodworking until his health failed him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Linda Lee Foster Griffin.
Bearers will be grandsons and granddaughters. Honorary bearers will be Tommy Lunsford, John Daniels, Danny Eads, Lewis Perry, Charlie Forehand and Lloyd Miller.
