FRANK OWENS
ADA-Services for Frank Owens, 83, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Steve Cordell will officiate. Burial will follow at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery at Tupelo.
Mr. Owens died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at his home. He was born June 29, 1926 near Jesse, Oklahoma to John and Bina Underwood Owens. He lived in this area all his life and attended school at Owl Creek.
He married Melba Bray on July 29, 1951. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2002 at Atoka. Mr. Owens was a heavy equipment operator for Stallings Construction until his retirement. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three daughters, Cletha Williams, Wewoka, Mary Mattison, Paris, TX, and Phyllis Pritchett, Burlington, NC; a step-son, Jerry Brakebill, Ada; a brother, Benny Owens, Tupelo; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Owens.
Bearers will be his grandsons, Paul Sharp, David Stafford, Adam Stafford, Timmy Owens, and Jamie Owens and his nephew, Jimmy Owens.
