FRANK FLEET
ADA-Services for Frank Twinan Fleet, 81, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Revs. Jerry Wells, Pat Kilby and John Haynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Fleet died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his home. He was born April 25, 1928 at Ada, Oklahoma to Daniel F. and Hazel Twinan Fleet. He attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in petroleum geology.
He married Arlene Rae Hoth on December 18, 1949 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Mr. Fleet was an Independent Oil Operator and an active member of the First Baptist Church. He served on the council of the City of Ada from May, 1975 until May, 1979. In May, 1977, he was elected the Vice-Mayor and in May, 1978 became the Mayor of Ada. Mr. Fleet was a member and former president of the Ada Lion's Club and served in the U.S. Army with the 45th Division in the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Mickey Fleet, of the home; one son, Robert Fleet and wife Debbie, Ada; a daughter, RaeAnn Gossett and husband Alan, Shawnee; a daughter-in-law, Kristi Fleet,; nine grandchildren, Angela Fleet, Erica Fleet, Alyssa Fleet, Matthew Fleet, Tanner and Callie Rush, Chase and Gage Gossett, Ashlie Fleet, Summer Fleet, and Blake Fleet; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Fleet.
Bearers will be Doug Fleet, Mike Freeman, Danny Freeman, Nick Kalmar, Tanner Rush and Matt Fleet. Honorary bearers will be the Jerry Wells Sunday School Class.
