Fay Smith

Graveside services for Francis Fay Smith, 80, of Pontotoc are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Pontotoc Cemetery, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate.

Mrs. Smith passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her daughter's home in Ada. She was born February 12, 1941 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Marvin and Francis Lucille Adams Childress.

She married Bobby Leon Smith July 26, 1957 in Maysville, OK. He preceded her in death January 22, 2019 in Pontotoc.

Survivors include a son, Terry Leon Smith and Maya Walker, Vail, CO; daughter, Sunnie Dawn Smith and Sam Baker, Ada; two grandchildren, Sophia Lynn Baker and Alexander Baker; a sister, Sandra Smith and husband Darrell, Oregon City, OR; brother, Royce Childress and wife Patricia, Pauls Valley, OK; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sherry Lynn Smith; and brother, Marvin Ray "Sonny" Childress.

She loved her family more than anything in the world. She spent countless hours playing with her granddaughter and drinking coffee with her husband and children. She loved working in the garden, watching the birds, and a good thunderstorm. She was an avid reader and wanted to learn everything and see everything. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren and always encouraged them to be themselves, thoroughly and completely. She was loved and she will be missed.
