FRANCES NELSON
ADA-Services for Frances June Nelson, 75, Ada are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Ada Church of the Nazarene, Revs. Steven Nation and Jim Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the home of her brother in Allen. She was born December 17, 1935 in Allen, Oklahoma to Ira L. and Clemmie Lucile Holly Iker. She attended Allen schools and graduated from Allen High School. She attended East Central University for two years.
She married Curtis Cole Nelson on December 22, 1956 in Ada. He preceded her in death January 26, 1976. Mrs. Nelson was a medical clerk and secretary for Valley View Regional Hospital, the Sugg Clinic, Dr. Ramsey and Dr. Howard until her retirement. She was a member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene for many years.
Survivors include three sisters, Joan Roach of Ada, Barbara Schulze of Englewood, FL, and Jeanie Davis of Asher; four brothers, James Iker of Ada, Ira L. Iker Jr. and Leonard Iker, both of Allen, and Phillip Iker of Calvin; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bearers will be Kent Lee, Darrell Langwell, George Hanson, John David Hanson, Fred Allen and Terry Lee. Honorary bearers will be Bob Stroud and Arvie Myers.
