Floyd Groves

Private family graveside services for Floyd Sidney Groves, 90, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. Harold Ware will officiate.

Mr. Groves died Saturday, August 22, 2020 at a Sulphur Veterans Center. He was born May 6, 1930 in Ada to Van and Mollie Boland Groves. He graduated from Ada High School and was active in all sporting events.

He married Mary Nell Conn February 25, 1955. She preceded him in death December 15, 2007. Mr. Groves served during the Korean War. After his military service, he was employed by Lee Glass Co. and later retired from Evergreen Mills. He was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Steve Groves and wife Lisa of Byng; his daughter, Carla Atkinson and husband Gregg of Oklahoma City; a brother, Glen Groves of Pickett; five grandsons, Justin Groves and wife Megan, Jonathan Groves, Matthew Groves, Mason Groves and wife Shannon and David Atkinson; five great-grandchildren, Bailey Atkinson, Emma Groves, Luke Groves, Maverick Groves and Taylynn Groves; and a sister-in-law, Bettie Conn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell; his parents; two brothers, Sylvan Groves and James Groves; and two sisters, Dean Stevenson and Lennie Mae McKaskle.
