REV. FARRON OLIVER
CENTER-Services for Rev. Farron Lane Oliver, 54, Center, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Ada, Revs. Don Keizor, Frank Trent, Gary Graves and Roman Rosalez will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Rev. Oliver died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at his home. He was born July 25, 1955 at Ada, Oklahoma to Audie and Francis Jane Pegg Oliver. He lived in this area all his life and graduated from Ada High School.
He married Debra Annette Dodson on August 29, 1980 in Cromwell, Oklahoma. Rev. Oliver was called into the ministry at the age of 17. He received his Mission Worker License for the Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1973, the regular license in 1975 and was ordained a Pentecostal Holiness Minister in 1977. Rev. Oliver was a full-time general evangelist for the Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 24 years. He pastored in Amarillo, Texas at the Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church for a 1 ½ years, the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church for five years and he was currently the pastor of the Ada Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. While he was a general evangelist, he was president of the National Association of Pentecostal Holiness Evangelists for two years. He also held camp meetings in North Carolina and Mississippi. Rev. Oliver was in the ministry for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Oliver, of the home; one son, Aaron Oliver and wife Amy, Ada; one daughter, Rachel Jantzen and her husband Charles, Tulsa; one grandson, Daylan Alexander Oliver; three brothers, Thomas Stark, Healdton, Burl Oliver and wife Judy, Ardmore, and Danny Oliver and wife Gwin, Ada; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Helen Dodson, Cromwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be his nephews, Gene Pederson, Eric Ross, Greg Dodson, Brandon Dodson, Bryce Oliver and friend, Keith Trent. Honorary bearers will be past and present church board members of the Ada Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church.
